      Good question! We aren’t really sure why they happen in different people at different rates. Some get them more some don’t. haha if you want to know a superstitious reason, some believe they are caused by the unsatisfied wishes of the mother during pregnancy 😛 but scientists think birthmarks are believed to be caused by overgrowth of blood vessels, or pigment-producing cells called melanocytes (that produce melanin) or keratinocytes (keratin producing cells).
