• Question: Is a butterfly's brain the same size as when it was caterpillar?

      This is a really good question, and to be honest I dont know! I am tempted to Google it as you have me interested.

      However as a scientist, what we do a lot is make an educated guess….and I would guess that the brain stays the same size. Some neurons probably wither (as they are no longer used) and new connections are established which enables the new activity (e.g. flying) to become more routine.
