Very observant question! According to research that was published in the journal of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, we (in general) are attracted to people who resemble our parents or ourselves. I’m not sure why but I think its a phenomenon called ‘assortative mating’ like tall girls will tend to go for tall guys on average. Maybe it gives us a sense of trust and security without us realizing it?
