Thanks for the great question! My favourite thing to lecture about is human enhancement. It is becoming more and more possible to develop human enhancements in the near future – while it once was science fiction. Even now, there are new limbs and robotic attachments for people who have lost their limbs. There are many types of enhancement – robotic, genetic, computer etc. Think of smartphones – they can also be seen as forms of enhancements – with them, we can talk to people thousands of miles away, store more information than our brains could ever hold and more. Some people will be able to be enhanced to be smarter, stronger, live longer than others and so on. The big ethical questions are about whether we should allow this to happen – should it be controlled by the government, should everyone be free to get them or should it be banned forever! For some more details, have a look at this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc6grg9ES2s
Whether you agree or disagree with human enhancements, it is so interesting!
