• Question: why are strawberrys red

      I would imagine that the colour is the result of evolution – where plants that had red colour pigment in their fruit attracted more insects to spread their seed and therefore had more offspring! Red=tasty!

      I agree with Kieran! What insect could resist a juicy red strawberry?! This benefits the strawberry plant. The more insects they can bring close, the more likely the plant is to have it’s pollen spread 🙂
