      Hiya,
The fact that most of your teeth get it right most of the time is a great achievement, dont you think? Some are probably a bit crooked because of cell damage resulting from a previous tooth being damaged (or pulled out!). Perhaps as it grew, the next tooth in the gum prevented it from straightening up? Can you think of other reasons?

It’s actually very common for kids to grow teeth that are not straight. This is mostly down to your genes like one could have an extra or missing tooth, gaps in the teeth or smaller jaws than normal. I also know sometimes things like thumb sucking interferes with your teeth not growing down straight

Hey, great question! One reason is due to evolution, and our jaws getting smaller over time! Before we evolved in to humans we had much bigger jaws (take a look at our closest relatives, the chimpanzee…. they have much bigger mouths than us!!). So even though our jaws are getting smaller our teeth are not, and they no longer fit in our mouth as well as they used to. This can cause your teeth to grow down crooked, as they are all fighting for room!
